4th Grade McTeacher’s Night – Thursday 10/3/2024
Help support our MES 4th graders in raising money for their Big Island Huakaสปi. Stop by the Salt Lake Shopping Center McDonald’s for their McTeacher’s Night on 10/3, from 4-7 PM. A portion of sales made will go to help bring down the costs of their trip.

Weโre excited to announce that Habilitat will be visiting Moanalua Elementary this Wednesday for the official kickoff of our Christmas tree fundraiser! Students will receive a copy of the flyers in their folders, so be sure to check them for all the details. This is a great opportunity to get your Christmas tree while supporting MES PTO. Habilitat has been selling Christmas trees for over 40 years, and this year, they are partnering with us to make it even easier for our สปohana to get involved.
Please spread the word and encourage friends, family, and coworkers to purchase their tree online and to select “Moanalua Elementary” as the group. There are 6 convenient pickup locations across Oahu. The deadline to order is October 31, 2024.

Don’t forget that the Give Aloha fundraiser runs until September 30, 2024. Maikaสปi Members can donate at any Foodland location using our school code 77664, and a portion of your donation will be matched.
Submit Your Kala Kokua Orders
The Kala Kokua fundraiser is also still underway! Be sure to submit your online orders for arabiki sausage, smoked meat, pipikaula, and taro pancake mix by October 7, 2024. Pick-up is scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 2024. A grand prize will be given for the student who sells the most items; and all students who sell at least one item will be entered into a raffle when we hit our $5k, $10k, and $15k fundraising goals! If every student sells just 2 items we’ll make out goal!
We are currently at about 10% of our fundraising goal, and we need your help to make it to our first milestone! Our first raffle drawing will take place when we reach $5,000. Everyone who has sold items or provided proof of a donation will be entered into the raffle, so donโt miss your chance to win.
Fundraising Opportunities:
Foodland Give Aloha Campaign Throughout September, Maikaสปi members can donate up to $249 to the MES PTO, and Foodland will match a portion of your donation. To enter the raffle, simply submit a copy of your receipt with your studentโs name to fundraising@moanaluapto.org. Use our code 77664 at checkout. Dine at any Foodland restaurant or bar between September 23-30, 2024, and a portion of your purchase will go toward the Give Aloha matching gift. Learn more about participating locations here.
Kala Kokua Fundraiser From September 3 to October 7, 2024, support the MES PTO by purchasing arabiki sausage, smoked meat, pipikaula, or taro pancake mix. Orders can be placed online at bit.ly/4g6eYzI, with pick-up scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon at the MES parking lot.
Monetary prizes will be awarded to the top student seller, and additional raffles will be held when we hit $10K and $15K milestones.

Thursday, September 19, 2024 | 6:00 – 7:00 PM | MES Library Join us as we plan our biggest event of the year, the MES Fun Fair happening on November 22, 2024. Help us organize inflatable activities, games, food and craft vendors, and entertainment. RSVP here โ Light refreshments will be served.
CPR Family Night
Wednesday, September 18, 2024 | 6:00 – 7:30 PM | MES Cafeteria Learn lifesaving skills in a hands-on session led by the Hawaii Heart Foundation. This event is FREE, but space is limited to the first 50 families. RSVP now to secure your spot!

Reading as Partners (R.A.P.) Theme: Biography โ Students are encouraged to read biographies and submit their signed forms by September 30, 2024.
Moanalua Moves! Health and Fitness Challenge Theme: Household Chores โ Encourage fitness through daily household activities. Signed forms are due by September 30, 2024. Additional forms for both programs are available on the PTO website.
Fall Fundraisers
Support the PTO and our programs through the Kala Kokua Fundraiser running from September 3 to October 7, 2024. Items can be purchased online, and pick-up will be on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
You can also donate at Foodland throughout September using the MES PTO code: 77664. A portion of your donation will be matched!
