Moanalua Elementary School Orchestra

Born and raised in Hawaii, Mr. Jeff Hamano has been teaching the Strings Orchestra program at Moanalua Elementary since 2009. He graduated from Kalani High School and received his Bachelors Degree in Music from the University of Hawaii Manoa where he studied Cello under professor I-bei Lin. Mr. Hamano also holds a private practice with cello lessons at Craig Young School of Music and Punahou School. He has performed with the Maui Symphony, the Honolulu Symphony, Keali’i Reichel, and other various artists in concerts here in Hawaii, as well as on the mainland. Mr. Hamano currently performs as a per service member of the Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra.

Fall 2023 Orchestra classes will begin on August 22, 2023.

Days: Tuesday/Thursday→Grades 4-6 Time: 3:00pm-3:55pm
(August 22 – December 19)
*No previous experience or audition required

Preparatory Orchestra: Fall Session**

Days: Tuesday/Thursday→Grades 4-6
Time: 4:00pm-4:55pm
(August 22 – December 19)
**Previous Experience or Completion of Beginning Orchestra I Required

DEADLINE: Forms are due August 15th and will be processed on a first come first served basis until all spaces are filled. Forms may be scanned and emailed to jhamano@moanaluapto.org. Tuition may be submitted at the first class on August 22. Please do not submit forms or payment to the school office.

New and returning students are required to complete the Fall Orchestra Registration and Rental Forms. Download forms from links below.  Submit completed/signed forms and $250 tuition payment (checks payable to Jeff Hamano).  Forms may be scanned and emailed to jhamano@moanaluapto.org.  If you do email the forms , please submit the tuition at the first class on August 22.
