October 2025 MES PTO Updates

A big mahalo to the 140+ volunteers who joined us for September’s Campus Beautification! With your help (and support from HPD District 5 Community Policing Team and the Moanalua Lions), we added fresh coats of paint, laid new sod, planted ti leaves, and removed old benches—all to get ready for this school year’s Fun Fair and May Day.

Fall Family Night – Coming Soon
Get ready for our Fall Family Pumpkin Carving and Costume Contest! MES PTO members will get first dibs on RSVPing and discounts on pumpkins. Stay tuned for details on how to sign up. Not a member yet? You can still join online at moanaluapto.org. Volunteers are also needed—email president@moanaluapto.org if you’d like to help.

Congratulations to Our MES 6th Graders!

We’re so proud of our MES 6th graders as they get ready to celebrate their Promotion Ceremony on Thursday, May 29. You’ve made your mark at Moanalua Elementary, and we can’t wait to see what’s ahead for each of you.

While you may be leaving our campus, you don’t have to say goodbye for good. We’re excited to introduce the MES PTO Alumni Group, open to all former MES students and their families.

Join Moanalua Elementary School PTO for Student Enrichment and Community Engagement

The Moanalua Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization is a volunteer group of family members, MES faculty and staff, and community members working together to enhance the educational experience of our students and build a stronger school community.

Students Enjoy Enriching Experiences

Through member dues and various fundraisers, the MES PTO provides key funding for popular programs both inside and outside the classroom at all grade levels, such as:

  • Classroom Stipends
  • Grade-Level Programs: Field trip admission and bus fees
  • Drama and Art Programs: Drama, MES Chorus, MES Orchestra
  • PTO Family Nights: STEM, Painting, Pumpkin Carving, Movie Night
  • Literacy Programs: Reading as Partners, PTO Book Club
  • Campus Beautification: Including the PTO Gardening Club

Dues are just $35 per family for the year!

School Supply Drop Off

Have more questions about MES PTO? Stop by our table at the MES School Supply Drop-offs on Friday, 8/2, and Tuesday, 8/6, from 8 AM to noon. MES PTO members will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about our different MES PTO programs. On Tuesday 8/6, we will also have sample sizes available of our new MES t-shirts (Note: T-shirts will NOT be available for purchase on these days).

Virtual MES Meet and Greet

Don’t forget to log in to the MES Virtual Meet and Greet on Monday, 8/5, from 5:30-6:55 PM. We’ll be sharing more about how MES PTO helps support MES and its students. Check out the school website for more information.

KEIKI SWAP MEET (4/6/2024)

Doing some Spring Cleaning this Spring Break? Donate your new and gently-used items for the upcoming Keiki Swap Meet!

The Keiki Swap Meet is open to the public – so make sure to spread the word to your family and friends! Monies raised will be used to help subsidize costs associated with the 2025 4th grade Big Island Trip. All unsold items will be donated to charity.

We are also looking to volunteers from all grade levels to help with the curbside collection of items on April 1-4, as well as at the Keiki Swap Meet. Sign-up at bit.ly/4bRbBL0 to help support our 4th graders.
