Upcoming October MES PTO Events

Fall Break is starting soon, but check out all these upcoming MES PTO events happening this October:

FALL FUNDRAISERS

Thank you to all the families who made at donation with Foodland’s Give Aloha campaign. Students can turn in a copy of their receipt at the MES office or email them to fundraising@moanaluapto.org by October 8, to get credit for our Fundraising Contest.

Kala Kokua: Make sure to order your Kala Kokua products online by Monday, October 7. Pick-up will be on Saturday, October 19, from 9 AM – noon, in the MES Parking Lot.

Our goal for our Fall Fundraiser is to raise $15k, to help support our various MES PTO programs for our MES students. Prizes will be given to the top seller; and we will also have raffles when we hit our $5k, $10k, and $15k marks. Make sure to spread the word to your friends and family so they can help out too!

Habilitat Christmas Trees: Get into the Christmas Spirit and order your Christmas trees and decorations online until 10/31. Make sure to choose “Moanalua Elementary” so MES PTO can get a portion of the proceeds.

FUN FAIR

Packets went home with students before the break in anticipation of our Fun Fair on 11/22. Make sure to take a look as there is important information inside about pre-orders (including the commemorative Tshirts that are due on 10/16); as well as ways that you can help out. The Moanalua Fun Fair is a beloved MES tradition, open to both MES families and our community, and the largest MES PTO fundraiser of the year. We need all hands on deck to help make it a success.

GARDEN CLUB EVENT: 10/12, 9-11 AM

FALL FAMILY NIGHT: 10/29

Make sure to check back after Fall Break for information on how to register for our Fall Family Night, which will feature family pumpkin carving and costume contests for both students and families. It’s always a SPOOKTACULAR event!

MES BOOK FAIR: 10/28-11/1

๐ŸŒฑ Join Us for the Garden Glow-Up Day at MES!

Come be a part of our effort to keep the MES Garden beautiful! This is a family-friendly event, and all ages are welcome (children must be accompanied by a caregiver).

Date: Saturday, October 12, 2024
Time: 9 AM – 11 AM
Location: MES Garden (Street parking only)

What to expect:

  • Tour the MES garden
  • Participate in our Plant ID Challenge
  • Volunteer to help paint planters, battle weeds, and decorate mini pots
  • Pot up succulent cuttings, which will be sold at the Fun Fair in November to raise funds for PTO activities and garden supplies!

This event is FREE and includes a light snack! Spots are limited, so be sure to sign up by Monday, October 7th, at the following link: Sign up here!

What to bring:

  • A water bottle, hat, sunscreen
  • Covered shoes and clothes you donโ€™t mind getting dirty or painted
  • Garden gloves (if you have them) and plenty of enthusiasm!

Support our MES 4th and 6th Graders!

6th Grade Pizza with a Purpose – Wednesday 10/2/2024

Help support our MES 6th graders in raising money for their upcoming camp. Mention Moanalua Elementary School Grade 6 or show them this flyer, and CPK will donate 20% of food and beverage sales from your dine-in, take-out, catering, and online orders (through CPK with code BACK20%) at checkout. Offer is valid only at the CPK Pearlridge location.

4th Grade McTeacher’s Night – Thursday 10/3/2024

Help support our MES 4th graders in raising money for their Big Island Huakaสปi. Stop by the Salt Lake Shopping Center McDonald’s for their McTeacher’s Night on 10/3, from 4-7 PM. A portion of sales made will go to help bring down the costs of their trip.

Make sure to spread the word to your friends and family as well!

October MES PTO Meetings

Come join us for this month’s MES PTO meetings, a wonderful opportunity to connect with other parents and staff who share your passion for supporting our MES students.

GENERAL PTO MEETING: October 3, 2024

RSVP online at bit.ly/4e3s9jm. Refreshments will not be provided at this meeting. However, we encourage you to support our 4th Graders raising money for their Big Island Huakaสปi by picking up dinner at their McTeacher’s Night at the Salt Lake Shopping Center McDonald’s from 4-7 PM.

FUN FAIR PLANNING MEETING: October 17, 2024

Only 3 Months Until Christmas โ€“ Habilitat Fundraiser Kickoff!

Weโ€™re excited to announce that Habilitat will be visiting Moanalua Elementary this Wednesday for the official kickoff of our Christmas tree fundraiser! Students will receive a copy of the flyers in their folders, so be sure to check them for all the details. This is a great opportunity to get your Christmas tree while supporting MES PTO. Habilitat has been selling Christmas trees for over 40 years, and this year, they are partnering with us to make it even easier for our สปohana to get involved.

Please spread the word and encourage friends, family, and coworkers to purchase their tree online and to select “Moanalua Elementary” as the group. There are 6 convenient pickup locations across Oahu. The deadline to order is October 31, 2024.

Reminder: Give Aloha Fundraiser Ends Soon!

Don’t forget that the Give Aloha fundraiser runs until September 30, 2024. Maikaสปi Members can donate at any Foodland location using our school code 77664, and a portion of your donation will be matched.

Submit Your Kala Kokua Orders

The Kala Kokua fundraiser is also still underway! Be sure to submit your online orders for arabiki sausage, smoked meat, pipikaula, and taro pancake mix by October 7, 2024. Pick-up is scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 2024. A grand prize will be given for the student who sells the most items; and all students who sell at least one item will be entered into a raffle when we hit our $5k, $10k, and $15k fundraising goals! If every student sells just 2 items we’ll make out goal!
