O‘AHU – Registration for the city’s popular and fun-filled Summer Fun Program, and Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) classes requiring a fee, begins this weekend. The registration schedule includes:
o May 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and May 13 & 14 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
o May 18 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and May 20 & 21 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Enrollment is conducted on a first-come-first-served basis as space is limited and spots can fill up quickly. Registration continues until all spots are filled. There is a $25 registration fee (waived for eligible families receiving financial assistance) and an activity fee, which varies from site-to-site depending on the number of excursions and activities.
Additionally, select Summer Fun Programs offer Summer Plus, which provides activities for the enrolled keiki before and after the regular program hours. This extracurricular program is offered at an additional cost.
The Summer Fun Program is open to children who have completed kindergarten and have not begun the 7th grade. In conjunction with the keiki Summer Fun Program, DPR offers a teen program for young people in intermediate and high school.
Summer Fun is a city-operated, seasonal day camp where children enjoy a wide variety of activities including arts and crafts, sports, games, excursions, special events, Hawaiiana and much more. The 2019 program runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., for approximately six weeks from June 13 to July 26. This excludes federal and state holidays.
Thank you for volunteering and supporting the Dino-Mite Book Fair!
I hope everyone found books that your children will enjoy! There was a great selection of books for students of all ages! Many of the students that did come in to the Fair seemed very excited!
Together with everyone’s support we were able to raise $4066.90. All proceeds of this Fair will be going towards purchasing new books (fiction and non-fiction) and online software programs for the library.
Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you at next year’s Book Fair!
