Get Ready for Back to School with MES PTO!

The countdown is officially on—we are less than a month away from the first day of school on Tuesday, August 4! While summer days are winding down, MES PTO is already hard at work planning an incredible lineup of activities for another great school year.

To make sure you don’t miss a single announcement, remember to check back on our website frequently and follow our Facebook and Instagram channels for real-time updates.

We are also excited to roll out a brand-new initiative to make getting involved easier than ever! Check out our new Volunteer Sign-up hub at bit.ly/MESPTOkokua that will be updated throughout the year. We already have several upcoming back-to-school opportunities listed, and we would love your kōkua to kick off the year strong. Whether you have 30 minutes or a few hours to spare, your support makes a massive difference for our students and staff.

May Day Help Needed!

Grade Level May Day Donations

Our 4th and 5th graders are still requesting additional fresh crown flower and plumeria donations to sew together for their May Day lei for our upcoming program on Friday, May 1.

Crown flower donations are requested by Wednesday, April 29.

Plumeria donations are requested by the morning of Thursday, April 30.

If you have any flowers that you would like to donate, please email president@moanaluapto.org.

May Day Program Greenery Donations

Our school is also still seeking greenery and floral donations for the May Day stage. Donations can be dropped on in the main MES parking lot on Wednesday, April 29, from 7:30-8 AM.

Join us for Winter Family Night – 12/12/2025!

Escape the bustle of the holiday season with a cozy night in with other MES families! Bring your blanket or lawn chairs, cozy up in your holiday pajamas, and enjoy a holiday classic – Home Alone. Doors open at 5:30 PM, and we’ll start the movie shortly after 6 PM.

Bring your dinner and popcorn, or save time and purchase from the Fifty’s food truck, run by one of our MES families.

RSVP by Wednesday, December 10 at bit.ly/MESPTOWINTER2025. Limited to the first 60 families, due to space limitations in the cafeteria.

Join us for our November MES PTO Meeting

All are welcome to our upcoming November MES PTO Meeting on Thursday, November 13, from 6-7 PM. This is a great way to meet other MES parents and hear from our MES administration and teachers about upcoming MES events.

RSVP at bit.ly/MESPTOmeeting25_26 by Wednesday, November 12. Light refreshments will be available for all who attend in person, so make sure to RSVP to help us with our food count. Students are welcome with an accompanying adult.

👻 What’s Happening?

🎃 Pumpkin Carving Contest
Show off your carving skills! Bring your own pumpkin or, for your convenience, we’ll have a limited number of pumpkins available for presale (limit 2 per family). We’ll have tools available for use — first come, first served! Prizes will be awarded for the Funniest, Scariest, and Most Creative pumpkins!

🕸 Costume Contest
Dress to impress! Come in your cutest, spookiest, or most clever costume. We’ll have categories for individuals and families.

📚 MES Scholastic Book Fair
Can’t make it to the regular Book Fair hours? The MES Library will be open from 5-6 PM for shopping.

🍽️ Food Pre-orders
Don’t want to worry about dinner? Pre-order a Nippon Bento Michiko chicken mini-bento and drink for $9.50 each. Food will be available starting from 5:30 PM.

MES PTO members, check your emails for a special discount code to use for this event as a thank you for your membership.

Whether you come for the pumpkins, the costumes, or just the fun — we can’t wait to see you there!
